Tom Vaughan’s Comedy Stars Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba
LOS ANGELES – DECEMBER, 15 2014 – Saban Films is in exclusive negotiations to acquire the U.S. distribution rights to HOW TO MAKE LOVE LIKE AN ENGLISHMAN starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba. The film is directed by Tom Vaughan (WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, STARTER FOR TEN) and written by Matthew Newman.
HOW TO MAKE LOVE LIKE AN ENGLISHMAN stars Pierce Brosnan as a Cambridge University professor who meets his match in Salma Hayek, and is forced to re-evaluate his life of hedonistic excess after he manages to get Jessica Alba, her graduate student stepsister, pregnant.
“HOW TO MAKE LOVE LIKE AN ENGLISHMAN boasts a brilliant ensemble cast with laugh out loud moments and a tremendous amount of heart. We’ve found the perfect comedy to diversify the Saban Films slate,” said Saban Films President Bill Bromiley.
Bromiley and Ness Saban negotiated on behalf of Saban Films and CAA on behalf of the producers. The Solution Entertainment Group is handling international sales. Southpaw Entertainment’s Richard B. Lewis and Irish DreamTime’s Beau St.Clair produced alongside PalmStar Media Capital’s Kevin Frakes and Raj Brinder Singh, Remington Chase, Grant Cramer and Simon Orange.
Executive producers are Pierce Brosnan, Michael R. Williams, Myles Nestel, Lisa Wilson, Matthew Newman, Stephan Martiroysan, Stuart Brown and Mike Sullivan. Co-executive producers are Sriram Das and Steven Shapiro and co-producers are Gabrielle Jerou-Tabak, Keith Arnold and Mark Fasano.
Merced Media Partners, PalmStar Media Capital, and Envision Entertainment financed the film.
Saban Films’ first acquisition, THE HOMESMAN, starring Academy Award® winners Tommy Lee Jones and Hilary Swank, was released on November 14th. The film, co-released with Roadside Attractions, continues to expand in additional markets across the US.
Saban Films recently acquired the U.S. rights to the crime thriller THE TRUST starring Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage. The slate also includes John Travolta’s THE FORGER; the action thriller TRACERS starring Taylor Lautner and Marie Avgeropoulos from Temple Hill Entertainment; and AMERICAN HEIST starring Hayden Christensen, Academy Award Winner® Adrien Brody, Jordana Brewster, Tory Kittles and Aliaune “AKON” Thiam.
